Legacy by ThorF

A time capsule excavated and reborn. Legacy gathers every Propellerhead Reason composition ThorF — Guðmundur Þór Friðleifsson — produced between 2002 and 2015, spanning from a bedroom in Kópavogur (Iceland) to the streets of Los Angeles.

I enjoyed dusting the old legacy files off, and mixing these songs in a completely new environment since these tracks were first written. Reason Studios has come a long way since I wrote this music. It was such a pleasure seeing this old work come to life with new software. I didn't change any of the original compositions or old soft synths. ThorF

The oldest track dates back to his Digranes days; the newest was sketched out in LA around 2015. None of the original compositions or vintage soft synths were altered — only the mixing environment changed, with Reason Studios' current toolset breathing new life into decade-old arrangements.

Born in Iceland and now based in Los Angeles, ThorF came up through the underground production lineage of FastTracker and the notoriously volatile Jeskola Buzz before settling into Reason as his long-term platform. He has released eight full-length albums and two EPs across Thor's Hammered Releases and the celebrated Icelandic imprint Móatún 7, with individual placements on Mighty Force, Neo Tantra, Neo Ouija, and Peak.

Legacy marks his debut on Möller Records — a homecoming of sorts, presenting some of his earliest electronic work through fresh ears and a new sonic home.
